A Nod's As Good As a Wink.... is a wide-ranging collection of fine tunes ranging from ballads to a cover of Chuck Berry's Memphis, Tennessee, Ronnie Lane's haunting Debris and the rampaging Stay With Me, all boldly produced by the band and Glyn Johns.
A minor degree of controversy came along with the initial release, which included a slightly cheeky poster of rock-star misbehaviour. The band's label had cold feet on this and after a few weeks on sale, the original was withdrawn and thus became an instant collector's item.
Again, the album has been remastered and reissued in an expanded, high quality audio format that really does justice to the rollicking, good-time tunes contained within.
